Mr. Walker was six years old when his family was ordered to report to the railroad station within four hours. He and his mother survived the Holocaust in conditions beyond description in Transnistria, in southern Ukraine. Following the war, they immigrated to Israel where he served in the Israeli army. Ben later moved to the United States, where he attended the University of Florida and Syracuse University before moving to Atlanta.
